I decided to start Revival Roots in order to provide people with the ability to connect with the food they consume. My interest in gardening and horticulture stemmed from my time growing up on a vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley in California's Central Coast. I attended Cornell University and received a degree in Environmental Science in the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Now living back in Los Angeles, I am helping establish and maintaining vegetable gardens across the city. I take pride in the fact that we source all of our products from local vendors and bring the true meaning of local to your backyard!
I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. I currently attend Cornell University where I study Chemical Engineering. I admire Revival Roots for its sense of community and its focus on sustainability.
I grew up on the north side of Chicago eating meatloaf, deep dish pizza and potatoes for (almost) every meal. California's sunshine, mountains, and abundant selection of produce became my home 2 years ago. Up until recently, I had very little knowledge about local and seasonal produce and realized that vegetables can actually taste amazing, especially if they come from your own backyard! My passion for gardening started when I lived on an organic farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. While on the farm I realized that there is nothing more fulfilling than growing, harvesting, and cooking your own vegetables and herbs and creating delicious dishes with them. I am currently furthering my horticulture education at UCLA.
