Reed Newman

Founder/CEO

I decided to start Revival Roots in order to provide people with the ability to connect with the food they consume.  My interest in gardening and horticulture stemmed from my time growing up on a vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley in California's Central Coast.  I attended Cornell University and received a degree in Environmental Science from the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Now living back in Los Angeles, I am helping establish and maintain vegetable gardens across the city.  I take pride in the fact that we source all of our products from local vendors and bring the true meaning of local to your backyard!

Born and raised in Southern California, Nick grew up in his grandfather’s greenhouse. Pat Ives

Garden Specialist

Born and raised in Michigan, Patrick has been immersed in the world of plants for over a decade. Rooted by an education centered on environmental conservation and sustainability, he has always felt a calling towards cultivating a more sustainable food system. After graduating he took an internship on a vegetable farm and never looked back. For the next few years he and his wife found themselves all over the midwest, during which time Patrick accumulated skills in horticulture, nursery production, prairie restoration, and viticulture. Each time they moved, the backyard & community gardens they planted kept getting bigger and bigger... In 2016 they returned to family land in Bliss, MI and founded Bliss Valley Farm. For the next six years they grew a huge variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs which they sold at local farmers markets. They now find themselves in sunny California where Patrick is bringing his diverse plant-tending skills to bear on the beautiful gardens grown by Revival Roots across LA.
